Vaquita art

I don’t think there is a better way to share an idea than through visual art. Something about an image evokes a feeling that cannot be accessed any other way. Getting out the message to save the Vaquita has proven to be quite difficult, especially through writing. So now I will be starting to draw a lot more Vaquita pictures and make as many Vaquita crafts as I can. I really hope all you artists out there will help me on my mission to spread the word. I have recently set up an account on the amazing site deviantART: http://goldenliontamarin.deviantart.com/, where I have posted and will continue to post my Vaquita artwork. I strongly encourage everyone to make some sort of Vaquita art and email it to me at gl.tamarin123@gmail.com. Get your kids to make something too! Sometimes a child’s drawing makes even more of an impact than an adult’s. I have started off the endeavor with a Vaquita word cloud.

What will you do?

New artwork

Here are two drawings that my brother and I just finished. The top one, “Two Worlds,” was drawn by me, and the bottom one, “Taken,” was by my 11-year-old brother:

I’ll be back

Here is what the t-shirt looks like (they simplified my drawings’ colors and details for easier printing):

I have been and will continue to be extremely busy for the next few months, due to the publishing of my book, the creation of the VCS, and helping coordinate National Save the Vaquita Day (July 6). I may not be able to post as many things during this time. But believe me, I am going to have a lot of stories to tell when it’s all over.

Book illustration

I am going to give a sneak peek of the illustrations that are going to be in my book. The picture below is going to be for the “Taxonomy” chapter of the book. Also, William Whittenbury from the Muskwa Club has asked to use this picture for the introduction of one of their movies! I will post the movie series when it is completed. It promises to be awesome. Also, I will post some of the many drawings, posters, and projects my siblings and I have done in the past few years when I can.

Vaquita Vendor cancelled

I have recently decided to remove the page “Vaquita Vendor” due to lack of activity on the blog. I apologize to anyone waiting for the page to begin running, but I think it is best that I cancel its opening. Anyone who still wants any sort of Vaquita artwork, PLEASE leave a comment below and I will try my best to make a completely personal order.
